DeShawn & Janelle

I’d found out that a friend of a friend had just gotten engaged and him and his fiance were going through a rugged transition. He had previously moved out to Topeka for a new job and she had just finished her Bar exam which she was devoting every spare moment to preparing for. I’ve known Deshawn for some time after only a few occasional social gatherings but it doesn’t take long to figure out when someone like him is just a genuinely kind person that you can be around totally free of judgement and a welcoming attitued. I asked him if he and his fiance would like some engagement photos to celebrate the occasion and he followed with an immediate, yes. On this evening I got to meet Janelle for the first time.

I can only imagine what it would be like to live in the hills of the city, without a doubt I would end up moving back to the River Market.

The interesting looking concrete cylindrical structure Janelle is sitting on dates back to the 19th century. It was once used as a platform for oil tanker when this area was a steamboat docking station.

Native plants in the area are sometimes worth a second take. Personally, I admire them more than all the green when it turns warm.
